The sanitary inspection, the infection-control committee, the hospital accreditation body all require records with date and time, per collection, per load, per contract. The most common finding in a sanitary inspection: 'inadequate documentation, incomplete records'.

Hospital linen comes in with moisture, blood and contaminants. Real soiling varies by client: 8% at one hospital, 15% at another. Without a digital record of both weighings, the hospital pushes back and the laundry gives in.
